Le triptyque - The triptych

Patrick a beaucoup voyagé.

L’autre n’a rien dit.

The wind.
Natural phenomenon that can sometimes be amazing.
Breathtaking.
In certain countries, bloody and destructive.
In others, guarantee of rich crops and prosperity.
An eternal reality of our more and more uncontrollable and unpredictable world.
In spite of our technologies, our so called knowledge.
Patrick travelled a lot.
In fact, he covered at least the entire globe distance wise. And everywhere he went, he never had to part with one singular particular pleasure.

In Chicago as in California, on the Côte d’Azur or in Asia, in the American Midwest or in the fjords of the Saguenay or those of northern Europe, in Australia or standing right in the middle of the African savannah…
By himself, his hands in his pockets, his face clenched, sometimes worried, his eyes shut or teary, he never passed a chance to just walk against the wind.
Any wind.
Braving the Tramontana, the Mistral, the Sirocco of the Algerian landscape, defying the Nevada desert’s Simoon, the decennial brutality of the Australian coasts, sometimes barely leaving the smallest opened crack between his tightened eyelids, like a Cinemascope transforms reality, as if he was suddenly visually impaired, perceiving only part of his surroundings to the point of almost forgetting where he was standing, he just treasured such intoxicating moments with the constant howling of the wind in his ears.

Now, on that particular day, same thing once again.
Deaf to all trivial city sounds, wondering on the St-Lawrence River’s shore, focusing on the incessant humming of a timid north wind as background music, once again, he thinks.
The day’s topic, Philip, met on the jogging ring of the Battlefield’s Park on the Plains of Abraham by a warm spring evening. One amongst so many who revived dreams of common passions and interests, even of longevity. One of those ships he would have so happily and proudly sailed away on with all and every intentions of never docking again.
The first time their looks and smiles hooked along with a “good evening” gently thrown on-the-fly, they passed by each other. Just as if they only wished to mutually signify each other’s lives.
Just like that.
They met several times after that. At the very same spot. Suggesting maybe a link, an intertwined road ahead.
And then, they finally talked. Really talked.
This time, Patrick was invited to visit Philip’s private hideaway.

The apartment was just as comfortable and inviting as was the man himself. Much unlike so many others, the living room seemed to be the focal point. In the middle, on a perfect maculate wooden floor, a huge Indian handmade rug around which all the furniture has been symmetrically placed. Scattered on the walls, discretely lighted paintings, some rural, some abstract. Here and there, potted plants on the floor or hanging from the ceiling.
Only just in and contemplating this first gorgeous room, Patrick tried to picture the rest of the apartment remaining, however appreciative, silent convinced that all the others (and they must have been pretty numerous) who came here before had most certainly noted out loud the perfection and order the place was kept in.
Philip proudly, almost arrogantly, led him through the entire place.
Up to the bedroom.
Shock.
The King bed sat in the middle leaning against the far end wall on another luxurious virgin wool rug. The bluish walls calmed and soothed under the discreet halogen lighting. But the “pièce de résistance”, that which unfailingly caught everyone’s attention was the triptych picture right over the bed’s head. A signed oil painted triptych showing Philip in all his naked splendor. In the middle, front and full; on the right, turned back, his face looking straight into the painter’s eyes ; on the left, in profile, the emphasis consciously put on the perfect curves of his muscled chest, buttocks and superb legs.
The poses revealed the perfect body of a finely sculpted man that was as gorgeous as he was unrestrained. Undoubtedly very narcissistic, but all in all, with all that flawlessness and the friend to oil paint it, who could really blame him?
Very well aware of the triptych’s impact once again, Philip just smiled and discretely yet noticeably thrust his chest.

They finally left that gorgeous room and returned to the living where they just sat and talked and opened up and revealed themselves while sipping a wonderful bottle of red wine.
All about this fortuitous encounter delighted.
For once, Patrick would have even settled for a sincere casual relationship. Authentic meetings, even scarce, were far better then none whatsoever. An evolution left to the passing of time, smoothly, non confrontational, but evolution all together.
While this visit was being a pure delight as it was, Philip got gradually closer on the couch. Then he silently took Patrick’s head with one hand and gently pulled it against his chest. Patrick did not oppose any resistance. Resting there, held by the man’s large strong yet gentle hand, he could finally feel all the perfection painted in the bedroom, on the triptych… and felt, right then and there, an instant burning desire of being his, of just staying there forever, and against all his convictions and principles, even of making passionate love with Philip.
Envies however admirably controlled, mastered.
He already knew too well the transient that would otherwise result.

- Philip...” Patrick started before he was silenced by an index gently pressed on his lips.

Philip left the couch and kneeled at his feet, between his legs.

- Patrick, I…” he hushed for a moment and took a deep breath. “Patrick, I’ve been alone for most of my life… well, actually, right here right now with you, it appears that way… here with you, I feel so much like I’ve been left alone all this time…”

The burden of confidences. The measure of words. The implications of opening up without restraint.
Philip started to cry. Imperceptibly, timidly, almost secretly, but Patrick swore he cried.
It was more then certain. This encounter was nothing like any other.
Silent again, his hands leaning on Patrick’s thighs, he pushed his face up to the point where their lips almost brushed against each other. Both could feel the warmth of the other’s breath. With surreptitious caresses, by furtive touches lurking from ear to chin, brushing against the cheeks, his lips finally touched those nervous and anxious of his guest.
In all aspects of life, opportunity often muscles itself as a leitmotiv.
By dint of caresses, tender pecks, passionate kisses, their tongues intertwined, they ended up in the King bed, right under the triptych.

In the morning, when Patrick finally emerged, happy, complete again, his head at the feet of the most magnificent Philip, he opened his eyes on the superb painting, first image of the day. In some epic scuffle, all the covers ended up on the floor. Except for the fitted sheet. Also down there were two or three used condoms filled with semen.
Leaning on one elbow, Patrick sat up and carefully compared the impeccable forms of the painting to its model lying close by on his belly, his head turned and nestled in the warmth of the crook of his left arm.
Don’t have to be an aesthete to swoon over such sculpted perfection.
Pause on the rounded bottom cheeks. Another on the lower back and the two sexiest muscle dimples. Then on the shoulders and the arm.
And finally his face… and his two wide opened eyes and his very awaken and aware smile.

- Man, Philip, you naughty boy!” he jokes, caught in the act.

He remained silent with his smile and his big staring eyes.
First morning contact as vital as all other criteria. Having the strongest feeling of being as welcome waking up as he was the night before.
Philip grabbed him once again by his neck with his strong hand and pulled him to his face.

- What are you doing way over there, so far from me? And where the hell are all the covers?

Why state the obvious with redundancies?
They kissed.

- Good morning…” whispered Philip as if he wanted to apply a balm on a fresh wound. “Please Patrick, hold me closer.”

Obedient, he immediately did.

- Closer please.

The man was really a huggable teddy bear.

- I will never thank you enough Patrick… cause I never thought I could feel this way with a man.” he said without a flinch. “I didn’t even suspect two guys could make love… really make love.”

-…several times!” Patrick added obviously satisfied.

And as a child to whom was once again read King Lion, Patrick kept staring at the situation, at the moment and the man, his mind alert and assimilating, attentive to the voice, to every detail, every movement, any gesture. Just as if he wanted to memorize it all. To never forget.
Because once again, like a song taken up again with yet another partner, Patrick immediately knew he would have to resign himself to let things take their natural unforced course too afraid that he was that Philip may just end up as ordinary, as trivial, as much a fling as others have been.
With wisdom often comes awareness and suspicion.
They laid in bed until eleven o’clock that morning.
Their hearts pounding, life itself with a totally new awesome outlook, they finally parted without any other promise then to stay in touch.

It is then that the modern existence revealed itself in its true light as it so often can’t cease to be in reality. A beautiful greedy and impure whore.
After a few days and nights without any news or call backs, Patrick returned to the very spot where they met just to walk and think as usual. The gravel ring on the Battlefield’s Park on the Plains of Abraham. And there he was. That very same man who shook his entire being.
Strengthened by yet another seduction and, in his own words, a new friendship with essential inputs, Philip went and met another, younger, certainly more handsome, more compelling.

Once again, carpe diem forcing its way in, being even the most vital reaction, this once significant idyll, even though reinforced by a whole night and a few days of emboldened hopes, sadistically had a play and rejoined all his other distractions to feed up his personal experiences…
…and failing to have brought something else, as if need was, to confirm his eternal passion for walking against the winds.

I ended up by accident on a profile on the superb site BigMuscle.com and the guy gave Fitness advices that I thought seemed pretty awesome and logical.  I told some friends of mine about them and they too thought they were pretty sound advices.  So here's the said text he posted on his BigMuscle profile along with one of his pics...just like him, hoping it will come handy to one of you... :

"Some guys have asked me questions about abs definition.

So I though I'd post it here instead of keeping repeating :-)

To get more abs definition it's mostly about your daily food INTAKE. As hard as your abs can be, they wont show well until you shred the layer of fat on your stomach.
It's when you are almost there that it becomes the hardest. the main reason being often that this fat layer is the older layer hence the most "resistant" (fat accumulates much like sediment if you like).
In order to burn that fat, the best is to reduce your food intake first (beware of alchoolic beverages. they -all- contain complex sugars that get very easily stored as fat).

Then do cardio activity on an empty stomach so that your body will take its energy source from stored fat. If you eat prior to exercising, your body will take its energy source from the food in your blood and liver and as a result you WILL NEVER LOSE FAT.

Also, when doing cardio activity, do it at a moderate-high level. you must SWEAT but not feel that you are giving all that you have. Why? because if you request high demands of energy from your body, fat is not going to be enough to do the job. So your body will switch to protein sources to help you do your exercice. As a result, you will loose muscle mass instead of fat. You dont want that.

Abs serve as stabilizers. So it can be useful to try exercising against gravity (lay down across bench, legs in the air for example). You can benefit from exercising abs while performing any other exercices. This way you maximise your efforts and the results will show.
Lastly, stomach definition comes in various forms and shapes that are genetically determined. So you may not be able to acheive the exact look you saw in magazines. It depends on you natural body design.

I hope this helps a bit!"

À propos de 2009 - About 2009

To me, this is what sums up the best 2009
