Le lugeur américain Tony Benshoof a mis en vente aux enchères sa combinaison portée lors des Jeux olympiques de Vancouver, afin de récolter des fonds pour la famille du compétiteur géorgien Nodar Kumaritashvili décédé lors d'une chute à l'entraînement survenue le 12 février.
L'enchère atteignait 510 $ US dimanche. Elle continuera sur eBay jusqu'à vendredi.
L'Australienne Hannah Campbell-Pegg met aussi en vente sa combinaison pour aider la famille du lugeur géorgien, avec une enchère atteignant 1625 $ US.
Benshoof a déclaré que c'est "le moins que je puisse faire" d'apporter une aide à la famille de Kumaritashvili.
Sa combinaison sera signée par les 10 membres de l'équipe américaine de luge.
The luger Tony Benshoof as started an auction for the suit he wore at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics to raise money in order to help the family of the late Georgian Lugist Nodar Kumaritashvili, killed in a fatal training accident on the 12th of February.
As of Sunday the 28th, the auction reached 510 US $... and is going to go on until Friday March 5th on Ebay !
The Australian lugist Hannah Campbell-Pegg was quick to follow with her own auction that already reached 1625 US $.
Benshoof declared that providing some help and relief to Kumaristashvili's family "is the least I can do".
His suit will be autographed by the 10 members of the Official American Luge Team.
